In addition to the day to day activities that the children participate in, we also have a highly regarded Pre-School Education Program for 3's and 4/5's (not in school) during the school year. The 3 year olds meet 2 days a week, and 4/5 year olds 3 days a week, for up to an hour and fifteen minutes each session. In these sessions, the children are learning the basics of development and educational practices, readying them for kindergarten. This will include, but not limited to, colors, shapes, numbers, letters, printing, use of writing tools (pencil/crayon), group activities/projects, individual activities/projects, field trips (apple picking, pumpkin picking, etc.) and much more! There is no additional fee to children already enrolled in the center.

 

SAMPLE  Preschool Lesson for CYC

 

“All About Me” - (Letter A, Numbers 1-5)

Daily – Color and shape recognition, politeness, calendar (count days, days of the week, months in a year), pledge, exercises, recognizing names, Spanish word of the week.

Four Year Olds

Monday – Let’s Find Out (Come Learn With Me) - Dotted letter worksheet, sound of the letter, things that start with that letter. Recognizing name (dotted puzzles). Talk about family (sisters, brothers, pet, grandparents). Read “Love is Family” By Roma Downey. Show picture and talk about eye color/hair color. Discuss differences and similarities. Introduce phone number (phone number worksheet). Add picture to puzzle piece.

 

Wednesday – I heard an a worksheet. Graph where everyone lives (city). Talk about favorites (food worksheet, color worksheet). Add favorites to puzzle piece. Practice phone number on large phone. Apple file folder game (1-5). Make “I’m special” crown. Sing “If You’re Happy and You Know It”.

 

Friday – Show and Tell with letter “A”. Talk about birthdays (birthday worksheet). Finish puzzle piece. Find objects in rice, put in numbered containers (1-5). Sing “All About Me” song.

Three Year Olds
